L’improvisation et la labilité mélodique comme formes d’expression du sacré : exemple de la récitation du Coran dans le style muǧawwad

Abstract : The recital of the Coran is inherently ambivalent in the sense that it generates an aesthetic appearance but at the same it exerts a certain pressure on the resulting melodic profile. This immanent tension is even more accentuated in the muǧawwad style, which pushes the musicality of the recital to a higher level. Specific formal values thus arise, induced by the sacred dimension of the Text uttered, and particularly in relation to improvisation and melodic lability.
