Some Aspects of Bambara yé....yé sentences

Siaka Sangare

Résumé

Bambara, a Niger-Congo language from the Mande linguistic family group have many specifics as a language. It's a head final language with a S-Aux-O-V-X word order. Verbal particle (Aux, MP) which are obligatory in a natural sentence appear between the subject (S) and the object (O). The verb is always final and may be followed by adjuncts or oblique complements. Bambara is a multi-system copular language because it has four copulative elements: ká, bɛ́, dòn and yé, each element having its specificity. Here in this paper we focus on yé....yé sentences which seems to be the most problematic.
