Interdisciplinary Research and Engaging non-academic Sectors

Siaka Sangare

Abstract

It is a joint work with Elitsa Mateeva from New Bulgarian University for the Interdisciplinary research and engaging non-academic sectors workshop organized by the European Reform University Alliance. We show how through difference we may come across sameness, cohesion, peace. Lars von Trier's Idiots, Thomas Vinterberg's The Celebration representing the Danish and Sheik Omar Sissoko’s Guimba , The Tyrant represent Mali. We observed that these films are quite different when it comes to the use of the camera: the camera is static in the Malian representation while mobile with the Danish one. Beyond this difference, the dramaturgical structure, the building of the scenario remains common.
